The Consumer Electronics Show, CES, is an annual trade show organised by the Consumer Technology Association. CES is the first major event of the year and it is a showcase for many new technologies and it sets the scene for the technology advancements for the year.

The event hosts a huge number of presentations of new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. There is everything from small gadgets right up to new groundbreaking trends. Everything is covered from gaming to general consumer electronics and from wireless communications technology to . . . well almost anything.

CES is the one of the major gathering places for meeting people associated with all areas of consumer technologies. The event hosts a wide range of consumer technologies but it is well known as being the place where some of the latest innovations are shown, especially in the world of electronic gadgetry. That said there is a whole lot more to CES than just that.

CES attracts a very large number of visitors. Typically there are more than 170,000 attendees from across the globe and the exhibition space occupies around 2.47 million net square feet. It is also the place where the major press organisations attend, so if publicity is needed for a new product or gadget, CES is a great place to be.

Even if it is not possible to attend CES, it is worth looking out for the press reports covering the event, looking to see what the latest gadgets, technologies and trends will be. There is sure to be a lot of new electronic wizardry and technology to be seen, either at the show itself or via the news reports.
