electronica is the largest electronics exhibition in Europe. It covers every aspect of electronics from components and distribution, test equipment through to manufacturing, and modules through to systems.

electronica is held every other year in the Messe Munchen, Munich, Germany. It takes up many of the halls in this purpose built exhibition and conference centre and normally covers over 145 000 square metres of space.

The exhibition and has been running since 1964 and since then electronica has grown steadily, attracting around 75 000 visitors from over 50 countries and providng exhibition space to over 2700 exhibitors.

The Messe Munchen is easy to reach, although it is a little way out from the centre. It is served by the U-Bahn line U2 line. Take the line to Messestadt Ost. It runs from 4:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night, and takes you directly to the Messe Munchen and the ICM. During peak times it runs every 5 minutes.

electronica recommends purchasing an unlimited day pass (Tageskarte) for 11 Euros. This is a particularly convenient ticket as it allows unlimited travel within the central zone for its duration. Additional tickets are needed for travel to and from the airport.

If you are involved in electronics in any way, then electronica is the professional electronics exhibition for anyone based in Europe or beyond.
