Decibel dB to Power & Current or Voltage Levels Chart

Chart of decibel levels against power, voltage & current ratios.

Decibels, dB Tutorial Includes:
Decibels, dB - the basics     Decibels levels table     dBm to dBW & power conversion chart     dBm to watts and volts conversion chart     Nepers

The table below provides a chart of the decibel levels converted to power ratios, voltage and current ratios.

The decibel levels are chosen for a wide variety of different values to enable an easy estimate of the decibel levels in a circuit or system.

Decibel Chart / dB Levels Table

10 10.0 3.162
20 10^2 10.0
30 10^3 31.62
40 10^4 100.0
50 10^5 316.2
60 10^6 1000.0
70 10^7 3162.3
80 10^8 10000
90 10^9 31623
100 10^10 100000

This table of the different decibel levels related to different power and voltage or current ratios can be useful in quickly determining the power ratio expressed in decibels.

It should be remembered that when using voltage or current ratios, the two readings should be taken for points that have the same impedance otherwise this needs to be accommodated. Otherwise the decibel levels given will be incorrect.
